Lifelong Learning: The Forest & OLLI at Duke

A Partnership Rooted in Curiosity

At The Forest at Duke, we believe that growth doesn’t have a retirement date. We are proud to highlight our deep-rooted relationship with the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Duke University, a vibrant community of nearly 2,000 members dedicated to engaging the mind and elevating the spirit.

Through this collaboration, our residents remain at the forefront of Duke University’s commitment to community service and academic excellence, fostering wellbeing through a wide range of educational programs and social activities.

World-Class Education, Right at Your Fingertips

OLLI at Duke offers approximately 200 annual courses led by a prestigious mix of Duke professors, peer teachers, independent scholars, and community experts. Whether you are exploring a new language, diving into historical research, or discussing the latest in science and technology, the opportunities for discovery are endless.

Exclusive Lifelong Learning Opportunities for Foresters

We are thrilled to offer a special pilot program exclusive to Forest residents and members of our Early Acceptance Program (EAP). Through this unique initiative, Foresters can stay connected to the pulse of Duke University at a special advantage:

  • Reimbursed Membership Fee: The Forest at Duke covers your OLLI membership fee, giving you access to OLLI’s full catalog of available courses.
  • Seamless Registration: Enroll easily through our dedicated Department of Community Life.
  • A Global Classroom: Join Duke alumni and learners from all over the world via OLLI’s dynamic online platform.
