Retirement Options

Cost, Contracts, and Continuums – exploring Continuing Care Retirement Communities as an option.

Join us for a virtual presentation that takes a financial look at retirement and presents data that could support a move to a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) plus information on CCRC contracts. The focus will be on CCRCs found in North Carolina but the information is applicable to many other states.

Melissa McLeod is a retired physician who decided to educate herself about CCRCs after retiring. Prior to Covid, she shared this presentation with Osher Life Long Learning Institutes (OLLI) at William & Mary, Duke & a Life Long Learning program at Old Dominion University to audiences numbering well over a hundred. The objective is to educate attendees on the cost of long term care at home versus care at a CCRC, additionally understanding the contracts that govern the cost & health coverage of CCRCs.

This free virtual offering is intended for those interested in learning about retirement communities as they think about and plan for the future.
