“The Forest feels like home and the residents feel like family.”

With nearly a century of combined rehabilitation experience between them, the members of Legacy Healthcare’s therapy team at The Forest are well versed in helping residents improve their quality of life. Led by the enthusiastic and indefatigable Rehabilitation Director, Jane Hamilton, this compassionate group of physical, occupational, and speech-language therapists specializes in creating effective, individualized programs to assist residents as they recover from injury or illness.

Ask any of these rehab experts what they love most about serving at The Forest, and they’ll tell you any combination of three key factors: commitment, contentment, and camaraderie. “It’s all about making a difference,” Jane—who has worked with Legacy at The Forest at Duke since the two organizations’ partnership began in December 2003—says of her team’s work with older adults. “What can we do to make [the residents’] lives better?”
