Janet & Craig Daniels
“The Forest allows you to be yourself and provides multiple ways to grow and relax; you’ll be encouraged in whatever direction you choose.”
As former professors and university deans, Janet and Craig Daniels knew they wanted to retire in a university town with access to the arts, excellent hospitals, and a diverse community. Here at The Forest, they appreciate being part of a vibrant community, and they enjoy the sense of freedom and individuality. While they dine frequently with other residents in their building, they are also fond of exploring the Triangle, from Duke’s famous lemurs to the Broadway Series at the Durham Performing Arts Center.
Janet and Craig’s first retirement, to New Hampshire from Connecticut, was beautiful but isolating. Here, Janet and Craig have reactivated their social gene and find themselves frequently engaged in caring conversations with people who are truly interested in their wellbeing, and vice versa. Their trusted companion, a border terrier named Edo, also loves life at The Forest, including the salad bar, which provides tasty morsels to supplement her meals.
