“The Forest at Duke fosters individual growth.”
Dale Harris is well known around The Forest at Duke for her warm and welcoming spirit, and as the President of the Residents’ Association, she gets to spend much of her free time getting to know her neighbors. Which suits Dale and her husband Ted perfectly, as they have always been community-oriented and peg that as one of the attributes they were most interested in when looking to retire.
Dale had a prominent and successful career as a judge in Virginia for over 20 years deciding Family Court matters and also served as an Adjunct Law Professor at U.Va., but in conversation she won’t focus on her accomplishments for long. Dale would much rather learn, from programs and lectures hosted by members of our community, or OLLI (Osher Lifelong Learning Institute) courses and from informal contacts such as sitting at the community table in Heartwood Cafe. She values listening to the stories of others rather than telling her own.
