Fall Virtual Learning Series: Introduction to Yoga (8-Week Series) with Cheryl Fenner Brown, C-IAYT, E-RYT 500

There is so much more to yoga than being able to touch your toes! This 8-week series (Thursdays at 10:00 a.m., September 24 – November 12) explores how the ancient philosophy and practices of yoga shed light on our modern lives. Each week will focus on one aspect of yoga, and you will experience many different practices including posture, hand gesture (mudra), breath, mindfulness, and yoga nidra. Learn how the practices build upon each other to bring you closer to a more positive relationship with your body and your thoughts from the inside out.
You will need to be able to get down on the floor for this series. Use the listed yoga props or gather items from around your house:
- a yoga mat (or carpeted floor)
- 2 yoga blocks (or 2 sets of similarly sized paperback books rubber-banded together)
- a yoga strap (or long scarf or fabric belt)
- a densely woven blanket
- a chair.
This virtual class is free and open to anyone!
